We’re delighted to be partnering with Bowen Island Gives in its upcoming fundraiser in support of Bowen Island youth. This is a continuation of the Foundation’s commitment to develop the leadership capacity of our young people.
Bowen Island Gives was set up in 2012 with the mandate to organize a yearly event on Bowen Island to raise money for a worthwhile cause. Its 2nd annual Mount Gardner hike on June 29, 2013 is its annual signature event. Funds raised up to $10,000 will provide youth leadership training on Bowen Island. Any additional funds will be directed to a Foundation fund to support Bowen Island youth.
Me to We, a registered Charitable Organization, is based on the idea that with the proper mentorship, education and skills development, all young people have the power to create positive social change. The leadership training helps students grow into civically minded young people who are confident, articulate and self-aware global citizens. It encourages them people to explore social issues they are passionate about; equips students with transferable skills to build confidence; and empowers them to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally.
The Bowen Island Community Foundation is collecting donations for the Me To We leadership event (see the Bowen Me to We Leadership Program details here) through the Canada Helps portal. To donate, clock on our DONATE NOW button and select Bowen Island Gives: Me To We/Bowen Youth Fund.
See you on Mount Gardner!
